In the course of a month two acquisition and transmission units were operating in temperature extremes and vibration conditions that were similar to the real-life operative environment in containers of the Siberian power parks.
One unit was transmitting data via Megafon network provider, the other was doing it via MTS. About 8 thousand pickup points were detected in the course of expedition which covered the distance of 12 thousand km, being equipped with the universal removable and stationary objects monitoring system. It has become possible to compile a map which would show the points on route where two different GSM standard operators were able to receive signals. The acquired information would make it possible to estimate the best provider to transmit information from this or that site or branch.
The work on the system which was a client-server distributed information processing technology, designed for remote monitoring of various technical objects, began one year and a half ago. The first sampled data in the framework of this technology were transmitted on 9 November 2006 from the site, located near Ladozhskaya metro station.
At the present moment the device is shaped as a small-size automated operation unit. The radically new electronics and software that provide cellular communication reliability were applied.
After the system was tested, the importance of communication reliability providing became evident, that is why the innovation research in the field of technical informational support is going on.
The major task of this stage is to provide the connection continuity in conditions of unstable signal communication and to guarantee transmitted data integrity. It is important to maximize the overall reliability of the whole system, to correct for a human factor during the operation, and at the same time to achieve the enhancement of the technology.
