On April 19 the St. Petersburg branch of ADD completed the project of energy supply for concert equipment of the world singing star Enrique Iglesias for his concert at the Ice Palace.
The task was complicated by the fact that it was required to supply power to lighting and sound equipment from different sources to eliminate the possibility of interaction. It should be noted that the equipment was made for American power standard (110 V) and has more rigorous requirements to the quality of electric energy.
The lease stock of power-generating equipment of ADD consists of a great number of mobile units based on Diesel-generators produced by FG Wilson (Ireland) generating electric energy according to the European standard – 380 V. To meet contract obligations, the design engineers were given the following task: in the course of two days to develop a special switching circuit for the winding of units generator.
Supplying electric energy of high quality and enduring against possible technical risks were the main terms of the contract. That’s why during the concert there was a double control of output data both at stationary devices located on the control panels of the units and using portable measuring devices. The quality of electric energy was consistently high at all stages of the event: during the set-up of the concert equipment, testing of sound and light, the rehearsal and the show itself.
